Warm, Inviting Kitchen Is the Heart of the Home

The Beginnings A typical center hall colonial in Annandale, VA gets a much-needed renovation. The clients, a busy family of five, wanted to stay in their neighborhood, so decided to make their awkward kitchen more functional--with increased counter space, storage, and organization.
The Concept. To gain better livability, we designed a new footprint for the kitchen, including architectural design changes to windows and walls. We opened up the kitchen to the DR with better flow between spaces. Maple cabinets, a honey wood floor, light granite counter tops, and an inviting color scheme give the space a welcome sense of warmth. A natural stone back splash with accents of a green glass mosaic tile add a dash of style.
