ROCKWELL TERRACE

Frederick, MD • Kitchen Design/Build, Laundry & Powder Room Design

Merging Then and Now with Thoughtful Design

We love when our established clients come back to us for more design ideas. This charming 1930s home needed a fresh updated kitchen that still honored the historic integrity. A desire for traditional-meets-modern design, lots of storage, and some unique accents inspired the Tuscan Blue Design team to create this gorgeous kitchen. Partnering with a trusted general contractor, this project began with a rebuild—walls were taken down, structural beams installed, new windows added, and thoughtful new spaces for storage, socializing, and cooking. We chose accents with personality and longevity, including a stunning wallpapered accent wall, brass-trimmed hood vent and lighting, and quartz countertops.

Along with moving the existing laundry to the second floor and creating a roomy, good-looking place to wash and fold, we also designed a serene first floor powder room. The finished design of this incredible vintage home is tranquil and timeless.

The greatest superlative that I can offer on Tuscan Blue is their ability to adapt to our specific requests and needs. It was a learning process for us and they were kind, professional and patient with us. This continued through to our schedule, which was interrupted many times by "life events" outside of our control. The team from Tuscan Blue never blinked, worked with us over email / phone (or however most convenient for us, not them), and independently drove through milestone after milestone without our oversight. Lastly, the team was incredibly creative when posed with unique challenges. When a mirror didn't fit the space intended, they turned "on a dime," found a creative solution, and executed within hours (not leaving the space looking odd). When a creative idea hit them that would add value, they flushed it out within hours, coordinated resources, and presented it to us without pressure (but heartfelt passion). All of this without our oversight but within our full control. - S.Barghaan
